Shutdown using power button only

For users of screen protectors, presumably quite a few people, it would be useful to be able to shutdown using only the power button.

Either a long press of a message on the shutdown screen saying press power button again to shutdown/sleep/etc

It would be nice to be able to turn off the QC without using the touch screen, perhaps by holding down the power button. It would be very useful for those, like me, who use a plexiglass case. I know that support says you can unplug the power cord directly, but it never seemed like a good solution to me.
