I’m using the Quad Cortex mini live and I love how the rotary footswitches work. When a parameter editor is open, C and D let me move between parameters and adjust values, and B cycles devices within a category. It’s fast and intuitive, and I never have to touch the screen.
The one thing missing in that logic is navigating Presets. On The Grid, footswitch A doesn’t do anything equivalent, so changing preset live means either opening the Directory on the touchscreen or using an external controller.
Request: let footswitch A rotate to scroll Presets (previous/next) while on The Grid or in Gig View, the same way C and D already rotate to select and change values.
Why it matters live:
- Stepping up or down through a setlist is much more intuitive than jumping to specific presets.
- It keeps my hands and eyes off the touchscreen during a gig.
- The mini has only four footswitches, so a rotary action on A would add a lot of value without adding any hardware.
Context: there is currently no MIDI CC for Preset Up/Down. I can work around it with an external controller (I’m setting up a Morningstar MC8 Pro), but that means sending a specific Program Change for each preset instead of simply going to the next or previous one. A CC for Preset Up/Down would be great too, and it wouldn’t replace this request, since a rotary A would still be the most intuitive option for anyone playing the mini on its own. Until that CC exists, though, having this on the device itself would make a big difference for live use.
Thanks for all the work on CorOS!
