What would be amazing to have is the ability to audition/AB the device you are about to capture in an existing preset. This with the exact wiring (capture out/in2) to capture as I know it is possible to use the 2 loops, but you need to rewire and in a lot of cases mess with either phantom power or xlr/jack cable difference.

It would be better to just leave the capture device plugged into the capture specific wiring to ab.

This allows to dial in the device we wish to capture in the right context with the post eq and other effects before we commit to a capture. And also quickly AB to other captures or models to make sure we do get what we are shooting for.

For example check if the settings allow for boost/overdrive/compressor in front etc.

As the capture v2 proces does take enough time as it is at the moment.

By extension, you are asking for the capture out/in2 to work as a send/return loop.

Is this not already possible by using use the ‘in’ and ‘out’ configurations on the rows themselves (instead of using send and return blocks)? I’ve never done it, so I can’t verify - but on paper it seems reasonable.

If you can’t do this, I would certainly agree it would be a very nice feature. Even if it means performing your capture process inside a loaded preset (I’m sure this is a CPU isse though).
