So I’ve been using an overdrive or compressor in my fx loop. And I already just looked it up. I realized that I can’t even hear it. So I don’t even use a pedalboard. I googled it and I’m not the only one complaining. It says you need a buffer or a certain cable. I think the pedals that come with the quad are fine and I can use my pedals with my amps. But I kindve wanted to use them with the quad because I like tactile things anyway does anyone else have this issue? I’ve seen pros with a ton of pedals having zero issues. Anyway, I thought I’d ask since I think many of you probably use a pedalboard. Thx.
Did you add amd set up the fx loop device?

I use plenty of external pedals in an FX Loop in my QC with no issues.
Like @h2loh said, you need to add an FX Loop block to the grid in order to activate the loop.
Also, the Send level tends to run pretty hot. Pull it down by 5 dB or so to make it play nice with your pedals. You can do this in the FX Loop block itself, or in the global settings.
Yes I’ve been using it like this for a few years. But I don’t use it that often and I realized tonight I’m not even hearing it. I kept testing it and realized I don’t hear a thing from the return send loop. I’m looking at everyone’s pedalboards and they have many pedals that work fine. I’ve watched pros like Simon McBride etc use pedals. I’m following the rules. Idk what the issue is. It’s like that on my other one too. I have the regular size and the mini.
Can you share a photo or a screenshot of your preset and/or FX loop settings?
I’m still convinced you have a setup issue. Here’s how it works:
Choose either “FX Loop 1” or “FX Loop 2” in the list; this activates both the corresponding send and return. You can choose to add separate Send and Return blocks to the grid, but it’s a waste of grid space. Mine is configured for FX Loop 2.:
Add the FX Loop block where you like in the grid:
You shouldn’t have to do much of anything within the block itself, just make sure it’s active:
Check your I/O settings and make sure you’re getting signal out (and back in). As I mentioned earlier, the Send level can be hot. I have the global setting for Send 2 at -4.5 dB to compensate in this case:
That’s about it. Just make sure your cables are good and that they follow correct signal flow.

Yes I have it set up in the send and return. The inputs and outputs are correct. I turned all my other pedals off that come with the quad and put a fender 64 reissue profile and there was zero overdrive. Thank you for replying. I appreciate it.
I have the block with the pedal at the very beginning. I have hot pick ups so I lowered the output. I tested it every which way. I have everything attached properly. The pedal cables are kindve long that’s the only thing but I’ve tried shorter ones. Same issue. I’m the kind that won’t let up on it because I have many pedals that I want to use. It’s very simple to do but I can’t figure it out. I’ll try and set it up again. I’ll try it with the bigger quad. Anyway, thank you for replying. another area to check is that you have the correct physical connections; the more pedals you’re chaining, the more important it gets. It’s really easy to accidentally connecting a pedal’s input/output to the wrong jacks. Maybe just double check that you’re connecting the external pedal’s input to the QC’s SEND jack, and the pedal’s output to the QC’s RETURN jack.
Also, test your cables if you haven’t yet.
Might also be worth running the pedal directly into one of the QC inputs- from guitar to pedal to QC, so you can eliminate whether there’s a problem with the FX Loop requiring repairs

I definitely have the input and outputs right. I’m only using one pedal. I can send a pic when I set it up again which I guarantee will be today because it’s bugging me. It’s like this in the mini and the regular size. Now that I think about it I don’t think I ever heard any external pedals . It was the quad’s pedals. I set up different overdrives and put one of my own in front. I’m wondering if I should put it n a separate row. I’m pretty basic. Overdrives sometimes a compressor several overdrives an amp and maybe an eq. Sometimes a delay. Nothing fancy. I am not into modulation fx. Thank you for responding.
Gonna assume this is a setup error in the preset. Most likely a super simple fix

Have you tested the pedal and cables in a non QC environment to ensure they work? Otherwise, I agree it is a setup issue (especially if it is an issue on 2 devices).
Maybe post a screenshot of bothe the signal chain and the FX Loop device settings.

I don’t know what else it could be I just put it away. I spent a lot of time testing different placements like on its own line and also just with a clean amp above it. Then before the amp. Removed everything but the amp block. I’m using a regular cab. Input 1 and separate input 2 put in the appropriate input and output on the pedal. In fx1. The cables are in send and return. I could barely hear it and sounded muffled. Checked the volume output etc. I’m wondering if my cables are too long. They’re the ebs flat ones. Meanwhile, the quad’s pedals work perfectly. I’ll keep looking for an answer. Thank you for helping.
Oh yea my pedals work fine. I am a former pedal addict and I have way too many. I use them with my amps. They always sound great. I just don’t like giving up on this because as I said I see so many people with an entire pedalboard. It’s a mystery. Thank u again.
