Since the standalone plugin midi settings do not work for the VST (see [Expression Pedal with the Neural Plugin VST in Ableton](https://unity.neuraldsp.com/t/expression-pedal-with-the-neural-plugin-vst-in-ableton/10857/1) ) I decided to create a work around configuring all my midi settings to the standalone and then rerouting it to Ableton using loopback [Rogue Amoeba | Loopback: Cable-Free Audio Routing](https://rogueamoeba.com/loopback/) . I was just wondering if this is a good solution. Are there any downsides to not using the VST?
