Hi there,

I just finished building a new Nano Cortex Editor for mac (others via html). To be clear Claude Code was used to help realize this project

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex020/uploads/neuraldsp/original/2X/8/8de012b9026cabdbae01150e8a1ceb28f422a90f.jpeg)

## Features

- **Presets** : switch presets over Bluetooth (no USB cable needed), rename, save; follows preset changes made on the pedal
- **Amp, gate and FX blocks** : all knobs with live, lag-free updates, model selection for Pre FX 1–2 and Post FX 1–3, block colours per effect category (Quad Cortex style)
- **Captures** : 25 capture slots plus the capture library on the device, with a browser for categories, instruments, tags and search; load library captures into a slot
- **Cab/IR** : slots, level, high/low pass, mic and position; load factory or user IRs from the device library into a slot
- **Tuner** : note and cents display, reference pitch (400–480 Hz), mute
- **Expression pedal** : per-preset assignments for Gain, Bass, Mid, Treble, Level, Gate and FX amounts (min/max, invert) and bypass switching (Heel-Toe, Switch, Stop)
- **MIDI controller with MIDI Learn** : map knobs and buttons of any USB/Bluetooth MIDI controller to amp, FX, gate, capture and cab controls, block on/off, tuner and preset up/down; optional pickup mode (no value jumps) and Program Change → preset
- **Morningstar MC6 Pro export** : pick up to five presets and create a bank file: page 1 A–E recall the presets, F opens an FX page where A–E switch the five FX slots on/off. The switches are named after the effect type, use the category colours and MC6 Pro icons, and show which effects each preset uses
- Drawn, brand-free pedal pictures for every effect model (your own pictures in `img/` are used when present)
- Log export for troubleshooting

I hope it helps you. No USB needed!

Any Feedback is appreciated!

New Version ist out with presets for FX and a direct connection the the Board. It reacts much faster and is way more reliable now

FX now automatically refreshes, when it is activated with the state, that is saved on the Nano and presets can now be uploaded, downloaded and shared between the users of the editor

Made a redesign to have a more streamlined view

1. I added an A/B button to compare settings quickly. If you connect the Nano wit usb, too you can now click the output to get an LUFS reader and a quick setup to balance your loudness for each preset

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex020/uploads/neuraldsp/original/2X/2/2ad6360e928b57a990254078313d46940444a74f.jpeg)

1. That is very helpful for me, to quickly balance presets

I also tried to remove any AI-Art from the editor. You can add your own designs and pictures and if somebody can make them better and without AI I would be happy to add them. I’m sadly not able do draw anything that is more advanced then my 8 year old son 😅

Last update for the time being. Finished a jam player, that normalizes every track to the optimal lufs. Removed Ai graphics as far as possible

Added new EQ view with live spectrum, if the Nano is connected via USB-C

Added the possibility to route the Audio trough other interfaces

Minimalistic look to avoid any slop graphics and fastest response I could get out of the editor.

Please note that I used Claude Code to build the editor and I understand every person, who is critical of AI use. I’m just one person and I could never build something like this in me freetime, this is just a tool to help us wait for an update for Neural and for me to give me confidence, that I can use the Nano long after Neural stopped supporting the App

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex020/uploads/neuraldsp/original/2X/5/596aff02fc078976a2453276f7f673ba09a915f8.png)

I won’t post about the editor, if nothing happens with the editor. It has all the features I dreamed of 😉

Feedback and Bugreports are still very welcome. The Waveshare Controller is finished, too. So i just hope it helps you as well, as it helped me in using the Nano to its potential right now. I still hope for some update from neural. Bluetooth audio playback, more fx options, Spring reverb etc would be very welcome.

Fantastic job! Thank you for this wonderful tool. I’m still learning how to use all the features. I wanted to know if there is a copy/paste routine for presets. I would like the ability to copy a preset and paste it in another preset slot without having to program the whole preset every time.
For example: Preset 1= Chorus
Preset 2 = Flanger
while keeping all the other blocks intact.

Again, Thank you for taking the time to make this desktop app!

Hi Chime,

i added the function. If you scroll down the preset list, there is new function

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex020/uploads/neuraldsp/original/2X/a/a88b6a4ce7ee2cb0f81709fa0d746afb774afe60.png)

Just select it with the preset you want to copy activated and select the new slot. It should copy all settings. Also be sure to check out the preset function for every fx pedal

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex020/uploads/neuraldsp/original/2X/7/756c20365e6e8827c59d0ad67b5390469ee57f95.png)

When you click on the preset in the fx field, you can name a preset for that specific Pedal and recall it in any new presets. This has helped me to set up new presets much faster. The idea is from CoreOs 4.1 on the QC and works like a charm

New version is here

Many thanks for the great tool. Without your work, the device would be worth only a fraction of the price, and I would be completely lost. Now I can really get to grips with how to operate it. I also ordered the waveshare controller board to build up a pedalboard.

I noticed that changing the mic or the mic position in a CAB/ IR section in the browser does not lead to a changed setup and therefore cannot be stored by pressing the ‚Save‘ Button. The same is true for the Level knob in the Capture section.

Thank you for your great work!

Hi Wendig,

the level knob is the universal knob for the Nano and can’t be stored as a preset. To change the loudness of the capture, you’d have to use the Volume knob. The settings of the volume knob can also be stored and controlled via the loudness tool. So you can measure the lufs or just turn the volume knob and hit save

The position is not shown as an unsaved change by the nano, but saving it anyways should work. I’ll look into it

Updated the V1.10.0 with a hot fix for the Cab-Mic saving bug. It should work now properly. The Nano doesn’t show the save, but saving in the editor should apply the settings and save them to the Nano

I’ve finally been able to connect the Nano. It seems that, if previously you connect the Cloud app, even when you disconnect it, the editor didn’t connect. I had to turn off and on the Nano. Then it worked perfectly.

Wow… This editor is awesome. Really, what a work. Thank you, mate!!

I think I’ve discovered a bug: in the cab block, changing mics and positions doesn’t work. I had to go to the app to see wether I lost my ear and didn’t differentiate the sounds… But no, in the app it works, so I was not crazy.

Hallo Anxel,

did you download the most recent one? The V1.10. It works for me now. Hopefully it works for you, too. Try to change mic and position save and check in the App, if it saved correctly.

Hi mate.

I didn´t download it, I used the web version. I´ll try it as soon as possible when I go to the studio. I´m very busy so it´ll maybe be in a couple days… But if you say it´s working, it will for sure.

What an incredible job! Thank you!
