MyVolts (Brand) Stepup - What Battery?

Hi,

Has anyone here used MyVolts (brand) Stepup along with a battery to power their QC or QC mini? ~ see attached pic

QUESTION 1): Are there REALLY only 3 things needed with this 12V DC Center Negative StepUp??

  1. This specific MyVolts StepUp (the mustard color which is 12 V DC Center Negative)
  2. A USB cable that supports PD
  3. A powerful enough battery which supports the USB cable

REALLY… it seems that’s it? It “seems” with these 3 specific things, no polarity reversing is needed, correct???

IF and please ONLY IF… you have already used (are actually currently using) a MyVolts StepUp and a battery

QUESTION 2) Can I use about any battery pack greater than 35W?

Like can I get a generic brand or an Anker brand off Amazon …OR… do I need a monster power supply like a Krisdonia ??

Thanks!!

AJ

Short answer: Yes, you can use any battery greater than 35W and you just need that 3 things, no polarity envolved in this, just the stepup need to be the right polarity, the usb is neutral.

This is exactly my setup, I have a MyVolts 12V USB-C PD adapter connected from QC Mini to my Baseus Blade 100W power bank. I use the other USB-C port on the power bank to power my CIOKS 4 (which provides about 1A of available output), then in my cioks I just have to power a Morningstar MC4 Pro and a Boss WL-50, as the cioks outputs are all isolated i don’t get any clock noise from MC4.
With this setup I have power for about 4h.

It works very well, no noise, hum, or any other issues.

Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!

I bought a (UGreen Brand) Power Bank off of Amazon, and I get my StepUp (the mustard colored one for the QC) in a few days. Can’t wait to try it. I greatly appreciate this.
