Looking for testers for QC Mini iPad midi controller!

Hey everyone! I’m looking for beta testers for Cortex Remote, an independent iPad MIDI controller for the Quad Cortex mini.

Why I built it
I got my hands on QC mini not long ago and came across few obvious shortcomings - the mini’s limited footswitches. I considered getting myself extra midi controller, but my pedalboard doesn’t have much room for another MIDI controller—and they’re not cheap!

Since I already use an iPad for sheet music, I thought: why not keep the music on one side and control the mini on the other? That’s how this project started.

What it does
• Preset, scene and stomp control
• Tap tempo and expression controls
• Preset favorites and custom names
• Rearrangeable panels for different screen layouts
• Performance lock to help prevent accidental edits

Want to try it?
You’ll need an iPad running iPadOS 26 or later, a Quad Cortex mini, and a USB data connection.

:point_right: Join the beta: Join the Cortex Remote beta - TestFlight - Apple

New to TestFlight? It’s Apple’s free app for testing apps before release. Install TestFlight from the App Store on your iPad, open the link above, and accept the invitation to install Cortex Remote.

I’d love feedback on connection reliability, confusing controls, bugs, or anything that feels awkward during actual playing. You can reply here, use TestFlight’s feedback feature, or email jk8tge@iotalab.biz. For bug reports, please include your iPad model and iPadOS version.

Currently supports Quad Cortex mini only, not the original Quad Cortex or Nano Cortex. This is an independent project, not affiliated with or endorsed by Neural DSP. (I do plan on supporting the original QC in near future, but I just can’t get my hands on one for physical testing yet.)

Thanks for checking it out!
