I want to give my friend/collaborator Archetype Rabea X... iLok?

Hey All!

I want to gift a lifelong friend Archetype Rabea. Is that possible? We are lifelong friends and he REALLY digs the Rabea suite. And… He’s not exactly thrilled with the idea of opening an iLok account.

Rabea X… He love the sounds from the plugin and we collaborate on things from time to time. So I’d like to purchase a license and send it to him in an email and let him do the rest. How can I make this happen?

iLok… We are both old geezers who’ve been playin’ and recording decades. He’s doing really great stuff. Years ago, when iLok was just… STOOPID… Both of us were locked out of our accounts after PT troubles. He’s a little gun-shy and, to be honest, my NDSP plugins are the first items to get me to the iLok camp in decades!

We exchange projects all the time. Never have a single one of them contained any hot software. Not once. Some weird eccentric items but never stolen. However, what if he fears iLok because of stolen software? I told him I don’t think iLok scans your system and acts as the ‘plugin police’ to crack down on P2P/Torrenting. But if he’s got something hot on his system… Does he need to be concerned about losing access to plugins in his projects or anything crazy like that?

I’m not much of a ‘poster’ of comments on forums/bulletin boards much… I’m a lurker.

If anyone would care to offer and guidance or information it would be greatly appreciated.

iLok is fine, once the account is created you can enable the plugin. The recipient of the plugin-gift would just need to register the plugin with their email. Its a quick and painless process which many plugins and related software utilize. You can buy the license and then give it to him so he can redeem it in his iLok account.

and you can tell him ‘try before you buy’ stuff will not get in the way, or get him busted. :wink:
