As a new QC user, I am only really missing one thing:
a stutter/step filter/slicer effect.

Will this be added? Is there a way to fake this? Couldn’t really get too close with the tremolo last night…

There is not a simple QC-only solution for a step filter or slicer. I keep an Empress Zoia on my board for weirder effects like this that I can build from the ground up.

One thing that would be MASSIVELY useful in the QC is the ability to add LFOs (and Gate, Random, Sample & Hold, Envelope, etc.) to modulate parameters in various blocks. You could easily replicate step filter sounds with this function. Please vote.

> Hi to everyone, i’m ask to the Neural guys if we can wait for us on the next patchs, somethings like LFO,ENVELOPE,GATE assegnable on a module parameters, like the pedal expression. It would be a great implementation, it would allow to create very elaborate effects, without creating new modules. Thanks a lot.

It’s why I haven’t sold my M9 yet. Using a filter that switches between triplets and eigth notes for a slightly random glitchy feel. Only use it for one song, but still, that song needs it.

I’m using a boss sl-2 pedal for slicing effects, but it would be great to have a programmable slicer in the QC. Can you imagine to have that with the overlord synths sounds on Rabea’s archetype!!! massive!!!

Kemper just released slicer and a their own harmonic tremolo.

Surely this is possible for QC.

How about this? I made it. I think tremolo + simple gate sounds almost
a slicer.

How about the new pattern trem. Does this solve it?

Well… yes and no. I’m not sure that this feature request defines the desired effect as well as it should.

I would say that the new pattern tremolo _halfway_ fulfills this request. It’s easy to use and sounds great.

If we’re talking about a _step filter_, that’s a different thing–a stepped LFO modulating a filter being applied to the signal (duh). The filter effect could have a pattern going up or down, or some more complex sequence, or have a randomized sample-and-hold pattern (check out the Earthquaker Devices Spatial Delivery v3 for a good example of this).

In my mind the two main references for this type of effect are the Boss Slicer, which leans more on being a tremolo effect, and the Moogerfooger MuRF, which leans very heavily on the filter side. I have owned both and they each have their strengths.

I still think LFO / gate / envelope request I linked above would be an enormous benefit to the QC, and would essentially take care of all of the scope of this request.

if you’re looking for pattern manipulation, the Circular Delay can also be pretty useful in creating mini-loops or patterns to morph and work with- much like the trem it can chop out a fixed pattern of repeats and then stop. On a parallel split you could further process those patterns and isolate them if needed.
