How does the capture tone stack actually behave? Is it like a 3band EQ block right before the capture block… or?

I’ve read through the manual and I could not determine how it is applied and to make the best use of it.

if I’m looking to pad my input when switching between single coils and humbucker guitars - is that what the capture gain literally does, adjust the input gain?

Thanks!
