Apologies if I’m missing something obvious here. I’m really pleased that at last I can use the Archetypes I’ve purchased (Petrucci and Rabea) on my Quad Cortex with the release of CorOS 4.1. I’d like to be able to select from the various artist presets available within the archetype, put them on the grid, then perhaps save them to the QC.
I can do this via the QC screen. However what I’d really like to do is select them via Cortex Control. The only thing I can seem to do with Cortex Control is find the archetype and put the ‘default’ preset on the grid. Then I can build a preset. Or I can use the QC to find an artist preset, put it in one of my directory locations, upload that location to Cortex Cloud, at which point I can see it in Cortex Control (which seems somewhat ‘long winded’).
I suspect I’m being dim and those clever chaps at Neural have an elegant and simple way of doing what I’d like to do. Those of you who have had the PCOM versions of your purchased plugins for a while have, I guess, sorted this out. Help please.
Thanks Ben
Yep, that’s exactly what I can get when I use the QC screen. And below each folder I see the artists presets.
My question is about the same access but via Cortex Control. To make it a bit clearer, here’s what I see from Cortex Control. There’s one preset visible - ‘default’. No substructure with the artists presets.
So ’ Is access to the artists presets in an owned Archetype via Cortex Control’ the question that I’m asking. Sorry if I wasn’t clear.
Well, you are at the right starting point !
You see the little triangle at the left of the folder icon near the plugin name (ie: Archetype: Petrucci) ?
Click on it, it will expand the subfolders containing artists presets. From there you’ll have access to the same presets as in the computer plugin.
If you created your own presets in the computer plugins, you’ll have to select it in the computer plugin, use the ‘locate’ button to reveal its ‘physical’ location, and it will allow you to drag and drop the files in the ‘user’ section of Cortex Control in order to import them on your QC.
the answer was provided above. Click the Triangle icon preceding the plugin Name, it will open/expand the menu to include the factory presets. (it’s a very small icon/indicator)
Sorry Ben, I didn’t see your reply till now for some reason.
AAAAAARGH!!! I was so focussed on the noticeable triangle to the right of the Archetype name (which would (a) seem to be the obvious way down a directory tree, and (b) does nothing) that I totally overlooked the little pale anaemic one to the left!!! As Snoopy would say, Good Grief!!!
Thanks for persisting in the face of a dimwit!
Cheers Ben
not to worry- this is a pretty common situation, they should probably consider making that arrow a little more obvious and the manual really doesn’t specify
