Battery simulator patch

Battery type, voltage, current and/or age (degrading) input block. Pushing or withdrawing power supply. Kinda JHS BAT-SIM pedal type thing. Possibly assignable to an XP pedal?

Interesting idea!

The original idea I obviously stole, but the even sickererer part is implementing it into the QC. Maybe just as an enhancement inside the sort of single effects that thrive on this, such as fuzz and OD. But it would nevertheless be cool to see what such (faked simulation) currents could do to time based effects as well.

I like the idea.

I don’t think a single input block would do the job, though. Battery sag behavior would need to be modeled individually for each overdrive/fuzz/distortion pedal block.

… For example could it break down or hype a chorus, phaser or flanger type effect, even though it doesn’t work that way in “the real world”?

Perhaps silly question, but hey you never know until you ask — what pedals out there are renowned as having a more desirable sound once the battery gets around ~30% juice or something of that nature? Genuinely curious.

there are 2 ‘dead battery’ presets on the cloud, they’re kinda interesting

Good question.

Don’t know about specific sag percentages, but am I not mistaking the Fuzz Face, EH Big Muff, ProCo Rat, Boss Blues Driver. Allegedly some Wah’s respond well too, depending on which kinda battery is used. Probably the Klon too?

Tho wish here to go into uncharted unlimited territory in the virtual realm.

Will try ‘em out for sure, thanx.

Yup @xush, those presets sound the sh:poop:t in the good way. A little too much break up on lower register bass, but fine on guit when drive is added.

Immediately made a brown sound riff on guitar which is a good sign for me. You have to really dig in tho.

Kudos to @nydgemusic who made ’em.

Thanx again.
