Ability to change the top right up/down buttons into mode scrolling buttons

It would be great to scroll through the scene, stomp and preset modes in an easier/more consistent fashion.

When I play live, the dual click to navigate the scene, stomp and preset modes isn’t always consistent and having the option for one button to do this may be a good way to do it.

Maybe having the ability to change the function of the top right up and down buttons into a mode changer could be a good way to do this?

When you say the word page, I think I you mean mode. Scene mode, Stomp mode, Preset mode. Is this what you meant?

I’m only being picky about this because the word page is used to differentiate scenes within a preset in the QC Mini (page I and II).

That said, a request came up last year for scrolling through modes with the tap tempo switch:

I know it’s not 100% the same request, but both touch on the larger discussion about reassigning and customizing footswitches.

Yes, sorry! That’s what I mean, I’ll edit the original ppst

Thanks for sending the other request, I agree that is basically the same sentiment, but I would still prefer the tap tempo/tuner as it is. But I get that it’s a similar post!

Hey Joseph, there is the ability to control the modes directly via midi.

Change modes (Stomp/Preset/Scene)

CC#47 value 0 loads Preset Mode

CC#47 value 1 loads Scene Mode

CC#47 value 2 loads Stomp Mode

Any midi capable foot switch can do this.

But not hybrid mode apparently. Hopefully, NDSP implements full midi control and customization which should address many of these types of requests.

I get what you mean, but imo you shouldn’t have to buy a separate piece of equipment to be able to do that. That’s why this has been a request from a few people

Isn’t there already a combination of buttons we can hit now to cycle through these layouts? I could swear I accidentally did this once (maybe by hitting the bank down and tap buttons at the same time?)

My Fractal has a similar feature, so maybe I’m getting the two mixed up.

There is, but in my experience (especially live) it’s hard to hit both to a consistent degree. Sometimes the tap tempo screen will come up and I have accidentally hit the unmute button for the metronome because of it.

Having a single button to do this will always be much easier imo

That’s a good point. I have my own issues with the tap tempo screen altogether. These are the sorts of UI problems that can absolutely nuke a performance, and need to be fixed ASAP. I would sacrifice all of my other votes if these dumb UI decisions could be fixed.

100%, I think footswitching flexibility is probably the QC’s biggest weakness for me. And definitely there should be an option to turn off the tap tempo screen and access it, in a different way if you need to get to it
